Meet Sauntia

LSWAIC, MSW, M.Ed.
I operate under a critically conscious,
anti-oppressive framework.

This means that I recognize that I am a part of the system of oppression;

that I work to dismantle that system (concurrently);

and that I recognize the community cultural wealth (social and cultural capital) that each individual brings to the table.

This awareness is a combination of my lived experience and my professional training which gives me an advantage in challenging systems while deeply understanding individual experiences.

I believe that change can only happen through human connection.

My goal is to provide a space that allows individuals to work through and grow into who they want to be.

Sauntia Griffin, LSWAIC, MSW, M.Ed. was born and raised in the Central District of Seattle, Washington where she lives and practices therapy with teens and adults.

Sauntia earned a Bachelor’s in Social Work, a Master's in Education, and a Master's in Clinical Social Work from Seattle University. She has practiced with Atlantic Street Center, Northwest Kidney Centers, and in private practice,

She has been trained in trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, and a variety of techniques for evidence-based practice—regularly drawing from mindfulness and Gestalt approaches.

"I want people to feel like they belong. That the space that I hold is just for them."

"

Love takes off the masks that we fear we cannot live without and know we cannot live within.

I use the word 'love' here not merely in the personal sense but as a state of being, or a state of grace—not in the infantile American sense of being made happy but in the tough and universal sense of quest and daring and growth.
